Happy 124th Founders’ Day

Happy Founders’ Day!

124 years of excellence in academics, research and community engagement

The North Carolina General Assembly on March 9th ratified the Act establishing the “A. and M. College for the Colored Race”. Its purpose was “to teach practical agriculture and mechanic arts and such branches of learning as relate there to, not excluding academic and classical instruction”.

Today, we remember our humble beginnings in the basement of Shaw University, to our expansive campus in East Greensboro. The reach of our beloved alma mater stretches all the way from Dare to Cherokee — and into space.

nc_at_educationNorth Carolina A&T has award-winning faculty, tremendous economic impacts to the Triad region, intensive research programs and community-focused initiatives — but now our campus is more diverse, our curriculum includes nanoengineering and our idea of public service encompasses not only Greensboro, but the world.

about66Alumni, we are the heart of the A&T family, the soul of the alumni association, and part of a legacy that has changed the world. Aggies, we are better than yesterday, but never as good as tomorrow. We are investors in the future and staunch defenders against known and unknown threats against our alma mater. Further, our excellence has no boundaries — and because that’s what AGGIES DO!

Happy Founders’ Day!
Aggie Pride!
